The Buddhist Obon festival is when the spirits of ancestors are believed to return to their homes. During this festival many people go and visit their families and make offerings at their family altars. Christian Believers don’t want to participate in the offerings and Buddhist worship, but they do want to honor and respect their families. This makes it very difficult time for Christians, especially for those whose families receive their decision to follow Christ as rejection of their family values.

Pray that Christians will have wisdom and grace to remain strongly committed to their Christian faith (The Bible, 1 John 5:21).
