The Taliban recently had meetings with the US, UAE, Pakistan and Saudi Arabia. Iran also announced they held meetings with the Taliban. Iran shares a 600 mile border with Afghanistan and has long been interested in security with its neighbor. Pray that all ungodly and unholy ties will be broken between these two nations. Ask God that in these uncertain days within Iran, that many will be drawn to the love and security that can only be found in Jesus Christ. Pray for the salvation of Iranian political and religious leaders (The Bible, Psalm 37:39).

Five people including four police officers have been killed by an improvised explosive device (IED) left on a road in eastern Burkina Faso. About 40 members of the security forces have been killed in IED attacks since August 2018. Jihadist attacks in the country have killed at least 230 people since 2015. Some fear the government is losing its war against newly emerging terrorism in Burkina Faso due to inadequate knowledge of who is responsible for the attacks. Today we declare in faith that this will not be the experience of Burkina Faso in this new year. In prayer, refuse the work of satan to establish lawlessness (The Bible, Matthew 24:9-14).
